About The Light Room

The Location

One of the lovely things about The Light Room is its setting.

Linlithgow sits perfectly between Edinburgh and Glasgow, making it an easy meeting point for people travelling from either direction. But beyond convenience, it’s a genuinely beautiful place to spend time.

Just a short walk from the space, you’ll find:

  • The stunning Linlithgow Loch and Palace grounds
  • A wide range of independent cafés and restaurants (many of which can provide catering for your event)
  • Peaceful green spaces for a walk, a breather, or a change of scene

Whether you’re hosting a workshop, planning an away day, or gathering people together, it’s the kind of location that makes the whole experience feel that bit more special.

Arriving by Train

Linlithgow is one of the easiest towns to reach in central Scotland, sitting right between Edinburgh and Glasgow with frequent, direct trains from both.

The station is just a 5-minute walk from The Light Room.

If arriving from the east/Edinburgh on Platform 2:

  • Exit the station onto Back Station Road
  • Head downhill, cross the road, and continue on the B9080 until you reach Suntory warehouse
  • After the warehouse turn left, follow the path through the tunnel and The Light Room is on the right hand side
  • It takes about 5 minutes to walk

If arriving from the west/Glasgow on Platform 1:

  • Exit the station, go down Station Road and turn right onto the Linlithgow High Street
  • Cross the roundabout, taking the first exit towards Tesco
  • Walk through the Tesco square, out the other side, over the pedestrian crossing and head of Capstan Walk
  • Once you get past the Tennis club, continue on the path on the right
  • You will turn the corner and see The Light Room ahead of you
  • It takes about 5 minutes to walk

Because the exact entrance is a little tucked away, we’ve created a short video to guide you.

Finding the Entrance

The Light Room is slightly set back, which is part of what makes it feel so calm and private – but it can make it a little less obvious on first arrival. If you’re facing the cricket club, you’ll see a fence with a wooden ramp behind it. That’s us!

We recommend checking the Google Maps or What3Words link before you arrive and using the short video above if you’re walking from the station.

If you do get turned around, just give us a call – we’ll happily come and find you.
